Life is better with dogs and chocolate but nothing beats doing what you love and with your favorite people by your side.
About me and my passion for Parent Coaching..
Relationships have always been important to me. Not just stocking up on people to have in my life, but sharing life together in authentic ways that bring a rich depth to our relationships, having the courage to dig deeper in conversations, and showing up for all the ups and downs life throws at you. I believe seeking to find out who we are in all seasons of life can be such a gift and one that takes time and investment, as well as building trust and earning the right to be heard.
I have been grateful to have people in my life that want to sojourn with me this way and I am better because of it! I believe we weren’t created to do this life alone.
My husband and I have been adventuring in marriage for 21 years. I love being a mother to our three kids, a 19-year-old daughter in college, a 17-year-old son in high school, and a 13-year-old son in middle school. For over 20 years, from field staff to Area Director, I worked with tweens, teens, and young adults through the mission of Young Life. Parallel to working with young people, I had the privilege of working with many of their parents along the way. This has lent to experiences that both sharpened and allowed me to enhance my gifts for walking alongside both youth and families in their relationships through all types of dynamics as well as different socioeconomic backgrounds.
I am an avid learner, seeking out classes, support through therapists, parenting experts, trends, and books for staying current on strengthening parenting and family life.
The most critical piece of growth opportunity for me and what led me down the path to becoming a Parent Coach, has been my own parenting journey. Even having the training and skills to work with youth and families, I have needed help over the years to parent my own children. When I thought I had all the tools I needed, I was humbled by the stark reality that my husband and I couldn’t do this on our own and sought out therapists and parent coaches to walk with us. This was where the hard work and freedom began to bring life and joy back into our family and parenting that had been slowly depleting for years. Now years later, though I will always need people in my own corner, I am even more passionate about supporting other parents in cultivating life-altering health for themselves and their families. My life experiences, coupled with my bachelor’s degree and the work I have done through further training and certifications, has brought me to a place of now walking alongside others who courageously want to roll up their sleeves and do the work to bring newfound peace and hope back into their homes. It is an honor to walk with you should you choose to take your next steps with me.
